Principal's Message

Jag Students and Families,

  • Well Known: One Homeroom each week is dedicated to an SEL lesson designed for students to feel connected to ER and to fellow students.  This sense of connection and community is fostered in a number of other ways as well.  We aim to have club options that fit the interests of all students to allow them to find a social group to connect with. And we support, promote and celebrate a Unified Athletics program to help make Emerald Ridge the most welcoming and inclusive place we can where all Jags have the opportunity to thrive.

  • Challenged: The number of college credits and career certificates that students are earning at Emerald Ridge are increasing each year. Students can earn college credit through AP testing, College in the High School courses, or dual credit options with our Career and Technical Education classes. Students are leaving ER with certificates in nursing, drones, machine shop skills, and the list goes on.

  • Supported: Two Homeroom periods each week are dedicated to academic support. Students can work with teachers on concepts they want to clarify. Our National Honor Society students offer weekly tutoring for students who seek additional support.

  • Prepared: One Homeroom each week is dedicated to students working on their High School and Beyond Plan. The world is changing rapidly and it is important that students have an understanding of where they want to be after ERHS and how we can support those efforts to make sure they are ready for their upcoming challenges.
